On Monday, we were just sitting down to have Family Home Evening, and Brandon (as usual) volunteered to say the prayer. So after we sang our song, Brandon made sure we all folded our arms and closed our eyes. Then he proceeded with his prayer...
"Heavenly Father, thank Thee for this day. Thank Thee for all our many blessings. Please bless us we can have Family Home Evening. Bless us we don't run out of light bulbs..."
I don't really remember what else he said because I had to hide my face in my shirt so I didn't laugh out loud. After the prayer was over, Brittany and I just looked at each other, and kept laughing. Brandon just looked at us wondering what was so funny. We still laugh whenever we are reminded of our cute boy's prayers.

Beautiful Weather/Brandon Firsts
With the recent stretch of wonderful weather, we have been able to spend some time playing on the playground right outside our apartment. At times we have spent hours playing. And Brandon has had some pretty major firsts this week. He has never been very adventurous when it comes to playgrounds, but now has very little, if any, fear. He has never done the swings by himself, and would never let us swing very high. But now he loves to sit in the seat by himself, and asks us to push him "higher and higher." It must tickle his tummy because he just giggles uncontrollably.
His other first is going down the slide by himself. Before it would take some serious persuasion to even get him to go up to the top of the slide, even more to get him to go down. And when he did, he would have to hold someone's hand. Now, however, he loves to climb up by himself, and will even go down the "swirly slide". He is turning into such a little boy - no fear, kind of. We will have to get some pictures posted.

He's Cute, He's Funny, and He's Offensive
So Brandon is really into (well, among other things) the Disney movie "Robin Hood". He loves to pretend he is Robin. No matter what, Brittany is Maid Marian. It is always an adventure when I am around when they play--I never know which character I will be. At times I have been Lady Cluck, Little John, Prince John, and the Sherriff.
Well, tonight Brandon said he wanted to play Robin Hood. He then disappeared for a few minutes. He had used a step stool to get some change off of my side of the dresser. He came out with a handful of dimes and nickels. He took out a dime and gave it to Brittany saying, "Here you go Maid Marian." He then walked over to me with another dime and said to me, "Here, big fat chicken."
I hope he thought I was pretending to be Lady Cluck. I mean, I know I have put on a few pounds, and I am not the most adventerous person. But there is no need for name calling.

Where Does He Get This?
Brandon and I were making some pink drink (raspberry lemonade). After our first tastes, we decided to take a break and do some coloring. As I walked away, Brandon said, "Daddy, we need to call Jesus. We need to call him in the sky." Quite amazed, perplexed, and dumb-founded, I didn't say anything, but it didn't really matter. He continued to call Jesus himself.
"Jesus! We need you! Come quick!"
My first thought was that Brandon is so much more spiritual than I. Brandon then continued on like nothing extraordinary had happened, and found something he wanted to do.
I know most kids have a special relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus, but this just blew me away. I feel a little guilty that I don't have the same relationship.

Happy New Year to me (and to you)!
I received the greatest present today for the New Year. I found out that I will no longer have to work night shifts after March 8th, 2009. I can't tell you how happy that makes me. I have had a perma-grin all day. After almost 7 years in the NICU, my time has come. Hooray! Happy New Year to me!!!

Latest Brandonism
This one was golden.
Brandon: Chocolate is so good.
Mommy: Yup. But it's not good for our bodies.
Brandon: Of course it is, mommy. Chocolate is good for our bodies if we lick it.

Where does the time go?
I can't believe it has been so long since we have updated our blog!!! Brandon is not 3 1/2 years, and such a little man (opinionated and everything). He loves going to school, and is learning a ton. Breanna is now 9 months old (on Friday) and learning to crawl. She has 3 teeth, loves to jabber, and now has some hair. They are both growing up sooo fast! Brittany is working at the NICU and at home. Timothy is in his last year of pharmacy school (check out the countdown clock on this site).
As many of you already know, we recently moved back to student housing at the U of U, and are planning to stay there until August or so (when they will kick us out). Our apartment is cozy, and usually a mess, but we like it so far.
We will post more in the coming days--just wanted to give a quick update for now.
